There is the conversation between meetings. The birthday people remember. The person who needs encouragement. The volunteers making a project happen. The dues that sustain the work. The committee planning what comes next. The records that help the next leader continue.
WeCursor is being built to connect these parts of community life. Participation and administration belong in the same story.
People should not have to disappear from one another.
The question became personal in an ordinary conversation about university. A friend described reconnecting with someone after many years and struggling to recall people who had once been part of everyday life. It was a familiar human experience: people scatter, contact details change, group chats go quiet, and distance eventually makes reaching out feel harder.
The same thing happens after schools, jobs, churches, neighbourhoods, conferences, workshops, exchange programmes and other intense shared experiences. A gathering creates real connection, then ends without leaving everyone a dependable way back to one another.
Published research points to the wider pattern. The American Friendship Project found that losing touch is common and that students were especially likely to report losing touch with more than one friend. A study in Communications Psychology found that people often hesitate to contact an old friend once that person begins to feel like a stranger.
WeCursor’s answer is continuity of belonging: a living place where members—not only an office or a few administrators—can find one another, preserve shared history and create new reasons to remain connected.
Built to work with the channels people already use.
WhatsApp, email, SMS, calendars and social platforms already help people communicate. WeCursor is not asking communities to abandon them on day one. It is intended to become the canonical home for identity, membership, formal decisions, programmes, campaigns, accountable money records and institutional memory, then bridge outward to familiar channels.
One identity. More than one part of life.
A person may belong to an alumni year group, a faith fellowship, a professional association and a programme cohort. WeCursor is being designed around one identity that can move between those contexts without mixing their private records, roles or audiences.
Members choose how discoverable they are: across WeCursor, within selected communities, or only inside the groups where they already belong.

WeCursor begins with a pattern repeated everywhere: people build meaningful relationships and shared work, then scatter across cities, countries and stages of life. Conversation moves between apps, leadership changes, records disappear and the community often returns only when money or urgent help is needed.
We are designing a durable home where a community can remain alive between its biggest moments—where people reconnect, participate and support one another, and where organisations can govern, mobilise and hand over responsibility without owning the relationships themselves.
The ambition is global and deliberately broad. An alumni network, faith community, association, student group or programme cohort should be able to bring its own identity, traditions, structure and domain without becoming a copy of anyone else.
Where we are today.
WeCursor is in development. We are turning these principles into complete, tested member and management experiences, beginning with demanding real-world community patterns while keeping the platform universal.
What the name means to us.
“We” is the people. “Cursor” is a sense of direction: a point from which something can begin. Together, they express a community finding its way forward.
Our shared-path symbol carries the same idea. Different journeys can meet without becoming identical.
